Oh yes, that's true. I've considering going into animal work (I even considered veterinary school...) but that was my issue as well. Reiki would be super exciting! Before starting university I almost started at a private massage therapy college, where it's general first year, but second year you get to pick things to kind of specialize in; animal massage was my top choice! I actually followed a horse massage therapist onto the job where I watched her work and she let me feel how the muscles compared, massaged vs. not. Super interesting! If it wasn't for music I would be graduating this year... Oops! Hahaha! As long as you're working on it, that's great! I'm happy for you! and oh my, I can imagine. I was on a bus in Chicago and that was enough for me... Silly Americans Hahaha! Just jokes. I'm sure Boston has great (hopefully affordable) schools!

Yeah! I found a school really close-by, but I'm not sure if I will get in to it. It's called Brandies University. They've got some really awesome english and creative writing courses. Plus it's only five minutes away!!! I don't really understand the whole process of getting in to college and stuff because I skipped that whole year where they told you what to do in High school so. Bleh. I will figure it out. I'm on the right path. I have some money put away for college that my dad had set aside when I was a kid. I guess it's mostly stocks? Not completely sure on it. But yeah. Hey, we get there when we get there. Every path is different.

It never hurts to try! And honestly if you need help, try to reach out to someone who works there in the admissions office or something. It's really not too too bad, it's kind of tedious (at least in my experience) but! And yeah definitely, I completely agree. It's a great first step!

Yes indeed. So do you live in a dorm or at home? Also, I know you have a tarantula, how does that work? Do you have a tank for him? I could never have a spider. They spook the shit out of me..and crickets!

I live in a dorm, the school I go to is approx. 3hr drive from my house, but the closest university with a music program to my house was still 1hr30min drive.. Doing that twice a day? No thanks. I got nice scholarships (thank you, bassoon) so it actually made more financial sense to go away in my case. I keep my T in a smaller tank, they're not like fish tanks made of glass, mine is really a fancy plastic container with and easy-to-open lid (for me, not the tarantula! hahaha). I think the crickets freak me out more than the spider, I've accidentally gotten 3 loose since September and I just about cry trying to catch them and kill them. They're so unpredictable; they jump whichever direction whenever and I don't like it. Tarantulas are a little more predictable, the more docile ones (aka mine) will only run if they feel they're in immediate danger, but most of the time they're just like rocks and rocks are cool I guess! Hahahaha!

My boyfriend never lets me know when a cricket escapes, but I always find out because the cats go ballistic! They love playing with crickets. It hasn't happened in a while thought. I usually get thirty crickets at a time just to feed my leos and I can never leave the bag out or Victor will get to it. Crickets in the bag are so much more fun than out of the bag to him apparently. My cresties aren't big on eating crickets so they usually just get fruity oatmeal.
A coworker of mine told me his daughter had this African jumping spider or something. It sounded nuts! I'd freak out. It can jump like...twenty feet he said? I dunno if it's true, but I would not mess around with it. Is yours venomous? Or do they take them out?

Oh dear, I can imagine cats with crickets! It does sound like fun! And leopard geckos are my favourite, my friend used to have one we'd play with, she was great! Named her Sunny... hahaha! I mean there are jumping spiders, but I don't know about any African species! Jumping spiders are those little tiny ones, tarantulas can't jump nearly that far as much as I know; just to jump from branch to branch in trees, kind of thing. Tarantulas are venomous, as far as I know there's no way to take it out, since this is how they digest food and all that good stuff. If you were to get bitten though, it's comparable to a bee sting. Nothing lethal! Hahahaha!

I would love a road trip if I had a passport, or a car, or a driver's license lol.. It would be really cool if we could all meet up somehow. I am a member on another website and someone on there used to live 20 minutes from me before she moved. It was a lot of fun to meet her in person and hang out a few times. It sounds like you are really loving school Kayla, that's awesome. I graduated in May but so far have not found a job in my field (Graphic Design). So I'm pretty broke right now but things could be a lot worse. I'm trying to save up money to move back to Colorado because I love Virginia but I just don't feel like it's me. I guess I'm just tied to where I was born haha. I'm also thinking about going back to school for psychology and/or pursuing a career in animal (cat) behavior. I'm not sure if I want to be in debt though. I am going to start volunteering at the animal shelter here but I need to wait a while or I think I'll adopt 50 cats. I've realized that my dream would be to create a cat sanctuary for disabled cats or just for cats that would be going to kill shelters. I am such a cat lady haha. And tarantulas freak me out! Ugh I cannot deal with spiders haha. They give me the heebie jeebies! I used to have fire belly toads when I was younger and I would have to feed them live crickets. I really didn't mind it though and it was a lot better than the canned crickets. They smell like black olives and they were the big ugly black crickets not the brown ones you buy live. So they were super gross and slimy haha. I always wanted a snake but I know I wouldn't have been able to feed them the pinky mice.

LOL we can just drive you around, Ink! And honestly since I last posted I think I'm having a total change in heart but we will see in the next coming months what happens... Long story! And yeah debts not fun but I guess it happens though? I don't know how the system differs between US and Canada but going into debt here for school is the norm! and YES CAT SANCTUARIES!!! Ew, slimy black crickets omg....

I hate crickets in general. I was working one of the organic romaine salads at Trader Joe's once and there was this huge black cricket hanging out in there. It scared the crap outta me! I had someone come over and kill it.
I have a lot of debt from hospital bills. It's awful. I'm about twenty to thirty thousand deep. It's awful how much they charge for you to get help if you're sick. About two months ago, I finally paid of a emergency visit to a hospital from two years ago.
Ink, I've been dying to get a huge farm and take in all "unwanted" pets or pets that people can't care for anymore. I'd rely on donations and stuff. It's like my dream. I think there is a guy in Florida somewhere who has a cat sanctuary though too. He has acres of land just for the cats. It's awesome. I forget where it is but I believe I saw it on Animal Planet a long time ago.

That sounds awesome Razzy. I have been to the Big Cat Sanctuary in Florida but haven't seen the one for domestic cats. I know there's a cat sanctuary for blind cats but I'm not sure where it is. It sounds like the best thing ever though haha. Apparently where I work a couple of years ago someone had a frog in their lettuce wrap. That was about that nastiest thing I have ever heard. I mean I like frogs but not in my food ughhh. It's normal to have school debt here too, Kayla, but since I don't have any yet I'm not sure that I want to go into it. That sounds awful about your medical bills Razzy but I'm glad you're starting to pay them off. I know interest is the worst part of debt. :/

Yes, that's true; avoid debt when possible. And what?? A frog?? I think that's the worst I heard yet. Ewwwww. Also, Ink, love the avatar. It's....... rustic. Ottawa has cat condos for cats on Parliament Hill. Lia and I actually went and saw it when I was in Ottawa a few years back. LOVE CATS!!! YESSSS!

Hnnngg, cats. I'm trying to convince my boyfriend to let me get another cat because I have two boys and I need some girl power. I like going on petfinder and sending him pictures of cats. Plus, there is this pet store close by called Pet World and they have a bunch of cats living there up for adoption. And a local cat rescue comes to our pet store once a month. Eventually I will break him in to allowing me to have another cat. The frog thing made me gag. That's so gross. And it's alright! Bills suck and school sounds extremely overwhelming for me, but I quit my second job in hopes of going to school so I have to commit now. Thankfully my dad helps me out with things. He still pays my car insurance which must be a huge pain in the butt because I've been in five different accidents. Gotta watch out for Massachusetts drivers. Also I just looked up what the place was in Florida. It's called Caboodle Ranch. youtu.be/6VswBKrPuAQ
